Meet Evie!
Evie began dancing at Divine Movement in 2014, after being disconnected with dance since childhood. She has a background in the fitness industry and is always looking for new forms of fitness. Her mother introduced her to Divine, thinking Evie would love the physical and creative aspects of pole dance. And of course, mother knows best! Evie immediately fell in love with the art of pole and is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others.

Why do you love Divine Movement?
I fell in love with the Divine culture. Everyone is so encouraging, nourishing, accepting, and loving of one another. It is a beautiful, safe space for women to feel free to be themselves with absolutely no judgement and no comparisons. It is a place of warrior women who do nothing but uplift one another in the best ways we can.
What do you consider your teaching style?
Supportive, fun, hands on, technical. I want students to leave class feeling accomplished and energized. I also like to give students a little push when I can see they are ready for an extra challenge.
What music is on your “Divine” playlist right now?
Notion – Tash Sultana
Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High? – Arctic Monkeys
I Fall Apart – Post Malone
Favorite Food?
Japanese food and watermelon.
What is the farthest you have been from home?
Farthest would probably be Malaysia or Thailand.
When was the last time you cried?
Last week? Maybe a few days ago? It happens randomly and often, so who knows?!
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Astronaut, fashion designer, architect, artist/designer of some sort.
Guilty pleasure?
I’m a big anime nerd (borderline otaku) and I occasionally cosplay. I also love K-pop… You may hear some K-pop songs here and there on my playlists… 😉
Favorite article of clothing to dance in?
I love dancing in socks lately! Along with comfy pants and a loose/stretchy long sleeve top.
Favorite quote?
“Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.” -Henry David Thoreau
